Hi

I tried a 17-40 and compared it to the 16-35. The differences on my 1Ds
were very noticeable and I went straight for the 16-35. I've been using it
a fair bit lately and have found that I can get rid of most CA with CS raw
import.

Plenty of shots of sparkling mountain streams in bright sunlight at 9000
feet are showing no great problems :-)

As an aside, I've found the CA removal particularly good in sharpening up
the edges when I'm converting the images to black and white. Depending on
which conversion technique I use it can show a noticeable improvement. I'm
only checking the images on a laptop at the moment, so I'll have to see how
it goes when I get back to do some prints...

bye for now
