I feel very sorry for you. I've been using macs since 1987, and have worked with over 200 different machines over the years, from a mac plus to a dual G5. I've never had to send anything back to Apple. Hard disks die of old age, System software gets corrupted, but I've been able to fix everything myself. The only part I ever ordered was a new fan for a G3. In my experience, Apple's build quality is fantastic. I can't speak for their customer support, I've never used them once.
