I've written a cross-platform script in Javascript which will add the
filename with or without the extension. You can also add text before or
after the filename if you wish, or change the opacity or Blend Mode of the
text layer (try Difference). You can download it by clicking on
www.secalis.co.uk/Scripts/AddFileNamePlus.js . You will need to edit it in a
text editor to change the parameters, but it is straightforward. If you want
to change the Font you have to use the postscript name - you can get this by
opening a new page, typeing anything in the font you require, and running
the Adobe script GetFontName.js - you can get this from
www.secalis.co.uk/Scripts/GetFontName.js , if it's not already on your
machine.
If you are not familiar with scripts, download it to the Presets/Scripts
folder in the Photoshop program files, and use
File>Automate>Scripts (PS7) or File>Scripts (CS) - record an action to call
the script if you want to use Automate>Batch.
