This thread is not at all off topic IMO, since it involves image display on-line and
that's pretty important to anyone placing images there.

IN Safari, as in many parts of OSX - it's always ON.

AFAIK, though, Safari assumes <OSX Generic RGB> for any untagged
images. There has been A LOT of discussion about the prudence of this
choice on Colorsync users.
