No, choosing a different profile will reload the LUT as well... or it sure seems to work that way... and that's how its been explained to me by those on the ColorSync list who spend WAY more time on these matters than I do. My monitor with a common test image that clearly shows differences looks exactly the same if I do a cold boot with an external monitor connected at startup so that everything loads at start-up; or if I hot connect the monitor latter (where the proper profile shows an obviously uncalibrated condition) and simply choose a different profile that loads a different LUT and then switch back to the one the profile that I really want which loads the proper LUT as it resets the proper profile.
