Is their much to gain with 4 or 16 shot backs as opposed to the new 22mp single shot backs.

The justification for multiple-shot capture has little to do with the resolution or pixel density of the chip. If color fidelity is an issue, and if the subject lends itself to multiple-shot capture, there is nothing that can compare with uninterpolated color from a four-shot system. It is the only practical way to capture true color for every pixel. IMHO, it does make a difference.

Phase one – looks easy to use on a 6x 4cm camera- but that sliding adapter that fits on the 5x4 back? Also anyone have problems with the size of the viewing area on a 5x4 back or is it something you get over ?

We've been using digital backs (24 x 36 mm chips) on 4x5's with sliding backs in the studio for many years now. With live video, we've found that we use the monitor for composition, focus and adjustments. It doesn't take much of an adjustment.
