Dear List, Having problems connecting my new Minolta 5400 scan elite with my XP Pro laptop. Having followed the manual to the letter esp. "...the found-new-hardware wizard will appear...the not passed windows logo testing message appears.." Well, they didn't. What I did get was a message from Microsoft saying "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem." Microsoft say that the Blaster virus is the cause of the malfunction but I cannot find the blighter on my computer, having run Blaster removal tool, etc. Has anyone else had this problem with XP? To make matters worse the Microsoft message appears everytime I boot up. Will I have to re-install XP Pro & how difficult is this? I know the scanner is good as it works perfectly on my Windows 2000 desktop. (FYI scanner bought in Hong Kong for 385 pounds). Any help much appreciated.
