Dear Techies
I have searched for an answer to this but have drawn a blank! I want to replace the existing CD drive in a G4 with a DVD drive.
Main problem. How on earth does one extract the factory installed drive please? Not only are there no obvious screws to undo or clever tabs to release it, but the whole thing sits in an outer casing which also hides most of the connector.
Perhaps once the drive is out of the case it will turn out to be like any bog standard PC one, but has an adapter to take the smaller ribbon cable connector. The drive supplied is meant to be Mac compatible but has a normal PC size ribbon socket!
Any pointers will be much appreciated.
