Richard - try these links, they might prove useful - the tips are the distillation of my dust busting experience...
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~binaryfx/IT_scanningspotting.html http://members.ozemail.com.au/~binaryfx/ST_utilitymasks.html (difference masking) http://members.ozemail.com.au/~binaryfx/PSTV_downloads.html (healing pro action) More info to come later if needed...but I would like a high res crop of two different frames which do have the exact same dust location artifacts... P.S. While I had an inside ear at Adobe for the CS beta, I asked for consideration of grain/noise and dust in future releases (and noted some suggestions). It would be wise to make an official post at the feature request section of the Photoshop site if you too would like these "ancient, legacy" concerns addressed inside Photoshop without looking for third party solutions. :) Regards, Stephen Marsh. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
