Hi

Like a lot of things it depends on the subject matter and how the poster is
to be used.
 
I've taken a Canon 1Ds image and taken it up to ~A0 (first interpolate in CS
camera raw, then in PS) and it was 'good enough'. However, the image was the
background to the poster, and a lower dpi (180 I believe, but I didn't do
the printing or any of the other work on the poster)

BTW a 1Ds raw file just interpolated in CS raw at 180 dpi gives a 34"x22"
print, and the 14n file will be even bigger.
