It seems that Apple fixed the firewire connectivity bugs that created

I purchased Colorbyte's ImagePrint for my Epson 4000 a few weeks ago. I am
very pleased with the output but have had a continuing problem. For no
apparent reason I can fathom the printer occasionally stops during printing.
All software indications show the printer is still printing, but it is not.
The entire system, including the printer, must be restarted before the
printer and software work again.

When I queried Colorbyte about this they suggested it might be a
connectivity problem, ie. a communication problem between the printer and
computer because Epson printers are sometimes unstable when on firewire
connections. They suggested using a USB connection.

I am working with a G4, dual processor, 1Gz with 2gigs of ram, 10.3.4.

Has anyone else experienced or heard about this? Might these firewire
connectivity fixes also help this problem or should I switch over to USB in
any event (I have the cable on order)?
