Batteries - even rechargeable ones like Li-ion or NiMh - are still consumable items with a defined lifespan. Some batteries are rated to last many more charge cycles than others. If the manufacturer publishes this figure, it's well worth checking out, but not all of them do. Also, it has occurred to me that even if they do publish figures for this, we may be subject to gross variation in test criteria, just as we are in the world of image life expectancy. Maybe once we've got everyone to agree on testing criteria for image life, we can approach the battery manufacturers

I recently bought a new powerbook battery, it holds around 3 hours charge. The one it replaced, after 18 months would only hold about 20 mins. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
