Looks like a very expensive external hard drive to me... But it seems to
have power so it looks like it would work. How many images .at what size an
in what format need storing? Is she taking her laptop with her? If money is
important she might be better off getting a small external hard drive as the
storage device and just downloading her images as normal.

Subject: [PRODIG] memory for desert shoot
Unlike most of yer fellers, I dont mess with all this stuff at the
present time
- so please excuse naivite
a friend needs an external bulk memory device for shooting stuff on a
desert expedition (there is intermittent access to 110 v power)
this contraption was recomended and it looks fine to me but it does
require her to buy a usb2 card for her computer (she has firewire with a
cardreader at present)
any comments on this thing - is there a smarter or cheaper solution
appreciated
