Morning All
Unbelievably our rural exchange is due to be broadband enabled in a few
weeks time (yippee!) and I would appreciate advice on a) providers and b)
hardware requirements. Thinking we would be last on the list, I skipped many
useful past emails on the subject :-(
I've checked the archive but what is current thinking from those using the
non-cable service please? BT keep pestering us with calls about how
wonderful they are now, but somehow I am not convinced.

We run a SoHo network of several pc's using one telephone number for modem /
fax (with additional business and private lines for voice calls). The BT
exchange is only 200m away.
Do we enable all our tel numbers or just the modem line?
I need good access ie a business service not swamped at times by too many
consumers and no cut off in middle of session
I want a hardware firewall in the router although I also use BlackIce
software firewall
I am hoping to find a suitable provider for about 25 per month

Any pitfalls to beware of?
Thanks
