While applauding Shangara's generosity in offering his Sunday musings on Photoshop, and without any criticism of the deserved thank you posts that have been made, I would like to make the following general point, one which has already been made many times as a list mum message off list - direct to individual listers.
A thank you to an individual from an individual is best made off list. Otherwise it is just "noise" to the rest of the list. If every thank you was on list there would be little room for anything else. Obviously if the thanks are to many listers who have contributed an answer to a thread, using the list to convey those thanks is an efficient and acceptable way of sending that message. And yes - a thank you is always due if you have received help.
Keeping "noise" to a minimum benefits us all.
