Hi, I have both a Mac and PC connected via a router and can send files from the Mac to the PC. Before I had the router I had them connected via a crossover cable, which connected them using the ethernet ports. For some reason the Mac can communicate with the PC and send files to it (OSX) but the PC with XP will not recognize the Mac. I can type in the IP address for the Mac and it will not find it. But Mac to PC works great. In the finder click on Go>Connect to server and go from there. You have to have file sharing enabled. Hope this helps.
