This is true also when we mover up in the Medium and Large format world there has only been one camera back with CMOS chip, this was discontinued when a CMOS just is not good enough for this kind of Photography, but works very well in 35mm cameras.
Both Kodak and Dalsa uses CCD technology in 2x3, 4x4 and 4x5 sensors. Kind Regards Ulf Liljegren Phase One A/S >That is not strictly true. A ccd will give a better image direct from sensor but cmos output depends on the processing which is always necessary because >of the low signal. So different systems really. A cmos is capable of excellent results as Canon and Kodak DCS owners will testify. >CCD= high quality straight from sensor BUT high power requirement and static charge attracts dust. High cost >CMOS= High quality depending on processing. Low power requirement, low static, plus the sensor can support electronics that a ccd camera would need extra >circuit boards for. Lower cost =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
