I read a discussion on a list a year or so ago that said models for different countries often had different color balances to account for 'local taste'! Never quite sure whether this could be true or not.

They are indeed, however they print slightly differently. I don't know whether this is down to the driver, or some other US specific point, but we found that the colours produced were different enough from our 2100s in this country that we had to produce a set of profiles for our distributor in the USA (Jobo Fototechnic)
