I'm not sure what you mean by 'the black areas are cyan' here, but: does it look like a collection of very fine cyan lines printed across the print, including the borders? If so, it's a well-known thing with the 1290 and signifies the head is on the way out. Epson deny all knowledge of it, although it's been discussed to death on the various lists.
