You mean film grain? ......... grain is film grain, noise is digital noise
and one is not the other - not even remotely like each other. What a
pleasure to know the difference.

I use film, or more precisely - scanned film. My work requires grain and
visual contrast similar to the human eye, and film works best for me. I
think scanned film close up and personal looks fantastic, as it contains so
much information to massage anyway I want. It is the analog information
under digital control that I am after.......
