Any views on Bodoni and proofmaster folio (I like the idea of being able to

Hi Richard.
There's no doubt that the best way to get the 4000 to print to its full potential is via a RIP such as Proofmaster. We've been using it for a while now and are having a great deal of success in building profiles for a number of proofing destinations to suit our workflow . As Thomas says , there is a great deal more to getting the best results than following the instructions on the box , and with perseverance you can get far tighter tolerances than those specified by the ISO certification.
As to folio prints , once again you can get the 4000 to produce better results with the proofmaster RIP, especially with shadow density and detail , but you will of course still have the ultimate limitations of the Ultrachrome inkset when it comes to the maximum black.

Bob Marchant
