I return you the question: why migrate of svn collective ? a free
place to put the code of all add on.

And Contribution ?. When I use a plone add on , I want to read the
code and be able to contribute. If I need to search for the code the
add on loose one point in my mind.

Since code of plone is versionned with svn why not keep svn ?

Also because git is not the only one dvcs existing around us. Python
community has choosen mercurial. Zope community want to be close to
python and plone to be close to zope. So even if there is a change do
you think it will be git & git hub ?
