It looks like I won't be able to use the purge command as portlets.xml
doesn't exist in Plone 2.5.3 I am thinking what I need is a python script
that would clear out the smart portlets and the custom navigation portlets
from the left and right slots. I am not a python programmer. I tried
searching for a script I could adapt, but I don't see anything that appears
to be close. What I would want to do is run a script that would get each
folder, check for the existence of a left or right slot. If they exist,
remove the smart portlet and custom navigation code. I probably could just
remove all the code in the slots as that's about all we use, unless this is
a bad idea. Then I could uninstall smart portlets and migrate the site to 3
and then to Plone 4. If anyone knows of a script that could do this or if
there is another solution, I would appreciate it. We have a lot of folders
on the College of Education site at Penn state and I don't want to have to
do this manually as I probably will need to repeat the process several
times, while testing and when we make the actual move. I have gotten one
site migrated to Plone 4, but we didn't use the smart portlets or custom
navigation on it so that wasn't a problem.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
