Well reported, ominous, and frankly something we really need to start
planning for. Since I follow the news, I know our policy makers are

The was a worldwide increase in military spending in the last five years.
Military spending in 2005, according to SIPRI (Google it):
USA - US$ 478 billion
China - US$ 41 billion
Who do we (the world) need to fear? US or China?
To this day US "surprise" attacks killed much more people than China's.
