http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/06/12/D8I6VEOO4.html - - - As Tropical Storm Alberto threatened to strengthen into the ninth hurricane in 22 months to affect Florida, former President Clinton predicted Monday that Republican environmental policies will lead to more severe storms.
"It is now generally recognized that while Al Gore and I were ridiculed, we were right about global <http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22global+warming%22&sid=breitbart.co m> warming," Clinton said at a fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party. "It's a serious problem. It's going to lead to more hurricanes." - - - So this "assertion" is treated in the media as an established "link" (between GOP policies and more storms). Jeez, by these standards the "link" between Saddam and Al Qaeda is a "slam dunk". To anyone who studies climatology, the fluxuation in atlantic basin hurricane numbers and intensity is a normal thing, we just happen to be on an upswing in that continuum at the moment. All the hysteria over "global warming" may or may not be justified, but that is quite a different question than "What is its cause?" because the honest answer to that question is "Even if we knew, which we don't, we can't control nature, and shouldn't expect anyone's policies to affect it in predictable ways." This kind of demagoguing is painful to listen to from someone as eminently qualified in meteorology as Bubba "Blow Me" Clinton, especially when the media eats it up and plasters it across the board as "news". By the way I want to thank the GOP for Alberto... Tampa finally got some badly needed rain and a nice breeze to boot. ;) - Bob --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
