That was for the whole activation mess. Now that the sheep have accepted activation as a "normal" way to do business, they are upping the ante and forcing you to secede all control over your PC to them. They know what's best for you.

I thought of Charlie Coleman's prediction many many moons ago that Windows would disable certain features remotely. If this article is correct, then indeed Charlie was right all along.

Exactly. When the Win2K SP3 patch came with a modified EULA that claimed the right to do exactly this, and many of us complained, the cheerleaders poo-poohed the complaints, saying that Microsoft would never do this.

        Uh huh, right.
