The article presents a very optimistic view of a nascent technology.
This reminds me of the hype of Java or Ruby or OOP for that matter,
when they were first introduced. It covers the upsides well, but not
the downsides.

quirks of each one of them." -- I do that now, execpt for IE, which
has the worst HTML compliance.
AJAX is a great set of technologies to layer on top of a web site, but
you need to be able to support graceful degradation to a
non-Javascript-enabled site since many security conscious individuals
keep Javascript disabled.
