Is there a way to allocate a native VFP DBF (read/write) over the internet?

If so, what would such a command look like and what are the risks.

This is new territory to me.

DBFs are files, and so you'd have to make the disk they reside on available over the net. Not a good idea, IMO. If you need access across the internet, you should consider upgrading to a server-based database. VFP works great as a front end to such database servers.
