If you are printing via windows the OS will make use of built in fonts
by sending a character stream, if you are using a truetype font or one
that isn't integrated into the printer (and the driver supports it) you
will get an image at 18x9/8 ish bytes. You also get better resilience
in factory environments as stopping a character flow just looses a bunch
of characters but the system carries on, if you interupt a bit stream
you get garbage (ala turning a deskjet off and on mid long print).
So to sum up you will reduce the send file size and if you have the
normal buffer on you OKI you will speed up the whole job. It depends on
how big the prints are and how fast the printer is as to the benefits.
