And how many
other people have a phone with a 2 GHz Pentium M, a gig of RAM and 80
Gb of storage for MP3s?

Not only does it not really answer Stephen's question, it's a silly
comparison. Grab that ThinkPad every time you head out to the grocery
store, do you? How well does it fit in the pocket of a bicycle
jersey? Ironically, with the phone I've got now I find myself leaving
the laptop at home/office a lot more. Unless I'm doing dev work, what
the heck do I need with a battery-munching machine with those kinds of
specs?

Anyway, what capabilities are you looking for, Stephen? The Cingular
8125/HTC Wizard I've got does push email, which Blackberries does as
well (everyone here at work has one, they seem to work as advertised).
Beyond that, the 8125 gives a reasonable web browser and a data
connection. If it's of any value to you, developing for the 8125 on
Windows Mobile is a doddle if you've already got VS.
