I loaded VPC on a machine and had 2 flavors of Linux distros, 98, ME,
2000, xp both flavors. All to test my first .NET distribution. The
Linux with wine didn't work at all be we gave it a whirl. Hell is was
probably that darned VFPOLEDB. No just kidding. It wouldn't go
through the installer, but it was all just a fun run at the time.

What were the hardware specs of the machine, and did you find the
machine adequate for your testing?
