Anyone got any idea how to convert a colour PDF to a black & white one, are there any tools out there that would do this job?
One of my clients has been scanning in documents on their big shiny Canon scanner/printer/copier. Problem is the default format is PDF colour! I have now changed that to 300x300 greyscale PDF (compact), a much more disk space friendly format. As you can imagine these are taking-up a fair bit of space and we have now reached the point where the backup tape is full, primarily because of the thousands of these ruddy scanned documents. Now writing something to do a tree walk of the drive and retrieve the path of each of these is no problem, what is a problem at the moment is finding something that will take a colour PDF and convert it to a 300x300 greyscale compact PDF.
