My guess is that it's a pitiful aspect of the human condition.  You try
to do the most for your company.  You overstep boundary's that blur your
focus on your actions and how your persona is morphing from good person
to sinner.

Business leaders, and politicians are the easily spotted individuals.

But in reality we cannot blame Bush or Gates for the current condition
of things.  In that they are within a group or a large group and
decisions are made that never ever cross them personally.  Their
respective empires are way to vast for them to be on top of everything.

There is no need for you to apologize for or justify anything other than
your tasteless gastronomic creations <g>.

I was merely agreeing with Chet about the inanity of a statement like,
"monopolies are good because they create the surplus wealth to pay for
good things."  I don't think any charitable benefactor of note ever
started out to make a fortune any way he could in order to spend it on
the public good.  Perhaps I am cynical but I believe that such
charitable acts are simply an expression of repentance for prior acts of
questionable integrity.
