eventually led to a fiery development crash."

You mean like Apple did when it switched from Motorola 68K chips
to PowerPC in 1994? Or when they switched from MacOS to OS X? (The
recent switch to Intel chips is not really a switch at all, as they've
always supported Intel in non-released builds).

        What a load of hogwash.

I am no big M$ fan but I am inclined to disagree with you, Ed. I am
prone to thinking that Apple has a much more concentrated and consistent
hardware constituency to deal with. Also, Apple demands respect while
M$ hopes for love but cultivates fear and dread. That translates into
fewer problems to deal with when making a sea change. But most
important of all, I supine, is that Apples O.S.s have a coherent design,
as opposed to M$'s helter-skelter approach.

P.S. It's not hogwash ... it's eau du porcine!
