So long as our so-called representatives are beholden to monied interests, they will act in the service of the hand that feeds them. Remove money from the equation - and bust up the media stranglehold - and we'll start to see people run for office who actually care about the people they represent. The counter-argument goes that we need "giants" and can't survive without their "vision". For many years I believed this, but now, looking at what they've done with the power, I'm disgusted and contemptuous.
