What makes you think an ex-insurance salesman who has only access to
material available to the general public can be considered a weapons
expert? (granted, after "The Hunt for the Red October" he probably got
to know good contacts inside the military/industry)

Regarding what you called "don't ask don't tell" pilots, one flew
AH-64A Apaches in Desert Storm, the other is an ex F-15C Eagle pilot
who now is involved in the F-22A program at Langley AFB. I got in
contact with these two gentlemen via internet aviation/modeling
foruns.

Your kind of response is VERY SIMILAR to one I got from a
"self-proclaimed weapons expert" journalist here in Brazil when I
confronted him to the BS he had written for a local newspaper.

You call me "Toshi", I call you "egocentric and self-proclaimed
intellectual Bob". LOL

! LOL... a good tecno-thriller writer? Maybe yes.

! Weapons specialist? ROTFL
!
! (I exchanged e-mails with USAF and US Army military pilots who think
! Tom Clancy is a joke).

If any pilots Helio knows think Clancy is a joke, then Clancy doesn't
know what he's talking about; Some pilots Helio corresponds with think
that Clancy is a joke; therefore, Clancy doesn't know what he's
talking about.

That's interesting "logic".

You exchange emails with some select individuals, I'd say. These
wouldn't happen to be the "don't ask, don't tell" pilots would they,
Toshi?
