1) Trade your car for an older truck.. Drive your stuff to PA.. sell it
and buy another small car
2) Rent a Ryder Truck with a tow behind car hauler
3) ABF Trucking has an option where they drop a trailer off at your
place, you fill it up, and they pick it up and deliver it for you.. I
used this when I moved from Florida to Ohio and was very reasonable..
The downfall is ABF is union so they wont pick-up/drop off on
weekends.. http://www.upack.com/default.asp
4) Cheapest, but most uncomfortably.. Put your stuff in a storage
building, pack your small car with daily essentials, sleep on the floor
until you can go back and get your things.. :) Look into the Extended
Stay hotels as an option if you 'have' to sleep in a bed.
Hi Tommy!
The multiple trips in the car aren't going to be cheap with $3 gas.
Rather obvious, call three major moving companies (North American,
Bekins, Paul Arpin, Mayflower, Allied) for estimates, making it clear to
the estimator that you are going to take the low shot. You would be
surprised how cheap it is for what you get. I know, I drove a moving van
for years, starved on those low rates.
They will even move the car for you, if you like. That might be cheaper
than driving it.
Regards,
Pete

I need to move quickly back to PA from Michigan. I've got enough
stuff for a decent sized pickup truck, but I've only got a small car
without a trailer hitch. My challenge: how do I get all of my stuff
(again, could fit in a pick probably) back to PA in the most
affordable way?
