Thanks for the tips, Malcolm.

I suppose eBay or Google and their add-ons could be used without any VPF
involvement, but since this is a somewhat-typical Internet/database
application, it seems there is room for a VFP-centric contender as well
(with VFP providing the UI, database, and interfacing as needed).

Be nice to hear someone say "I've done that" or something very similar,
or has plans to, and wants to take this on.

Lately I'm gearing up with selling consulting services, and seeing
different situations that I figure might be opportunities for other VFP
folks who already have experience in these areas.

Just to mention, I'm sticking with my own self-financed VFP product, but
need to do some selling to pay the bills, so that's my motivation for
getting out and selling. I am seeing almost a "mother lode" of small
businesses with interest in doing business on the net, but the thing is,
to satisfy them, solutions need to be low cost and relatively simple,
e.g. something already developed, maybe just needing minor
customization.

I never lost interest in the old "foxbiz" idea, where some of us were
going to get together to sell VFP products and consulting services. The
original effort stalled, I think, because there was no money on the
table. Perhaps another go, that starts with customers, will fare better.

In this particular case, today I had occasion to visit a local junk
yard, and while there I looked at this guy's business and spoke with
him, learned that he had recently lost a big income producer (towing for
those charities people give cars to; for a few reasons, that angle dried
up for him), so he's interested in doing something else. Looking at his
yard, it seemed a statement of the obvious that he should be selling
parts on the net, and overseas sales might be of particular interest,
given the number of "old" cars still in service around the world. He
readily agrees this might be a good thing for him to do, but he's not
(nor am I) in a position to fund R&D work from scratch.
