The technologies that encourage rudeness among kids. (Any adult who
does these things is just a jerk):
- hand-held games of any sort (picture a kid sitting in a room with
others, incessantly poking a little box in his palm)
- ditto MP3 players, when used among others in social situations
- cell phones, especially with bluetooth earphones (picture anyone
talking very loudly about deity-knows-what in public)
- the dehumanizing games you talked about
However, while the technology promotes this rudeness, good parenting
can overcome it. I can't say what I think of parents who allow such
behaviors without going wwwwwaaaaaayyyyyy [OT].
