Tristan:

If this is a label here and there type of job or volume printing?
Have you considered using a Label printer instead? I'm using
a P-Touch QL500 and love it. They even have macros for Word,
Excel and Outlook so you just select the text, the printer and
they arrange the data for the label and print. There are other options
like Dymo, etc. They work just any other regular printer and
the labels come in various sizes. The pros are the labels are
always in place to print and you don't need to buy anymore supplies
like ink, etc. so the cost $150 - $200 is recovered in a few months
depending on the workload.

I haven't work with this on VFP but believe is easier to work with
something one at a time that something that have many labels which
is moving and must keep track of where the last label was printed.

If its volume printing then disregard this message.

Subject: Label printing

Hi guys...

We have got an option of printing labels from within our system which works
fine. However, it has only been done for a set few standards (i.e. a couple
of Avery products). Now I would like to make the label size definable to
the user so they are not stuck to the few ones I have setup. I thought of
possibly opening the label designer up to the user, but I this wouldn't be
particle as it would involve telling the user how to work the editor.

My initial idea is to have a standard label that is included in the program,
but then give an option to the user to specify the size of the label they
want to print to, and then by use of a report hack, programmatically scale
the measurements in the table.

Has anyone else done something similar to this, or have they gone about it a
different way?

Thanks
