I've been getting pounded by these, too. My favorite (or least favorite, I suppose) that I've received more than once is the one telling me that my subscription renewal payment was long overdue and no more issues would be sent. The language in the letter was just generally nasty and the sort of thing usually reserved, imho, for people who don't pay their bills for more important things than a magazine subscription. I kept putting off calling them to find out what was up because I'd gotten so many notices that maybe I had renewed with one of those bill me and I'll pay you later options. Eventually I found out that my subscription is not only current, it runs until sometime in 2007! So the whole thing is grossly incompetent at best and extremely sleazy at worst.

Pinnacle Publishing, owners of FoxTalk. They turned around and brought
in their own editor, and some how convinced Andy Kramek, Marcia Akins,
and Doug Hennig to stop writing for them (some 190+ articles between
the three of them). Then they started the "fake invoice" barrage of
snail mail and emails."
