I did not get that impression at all from the article.  They are referring to 
residual copies and statistics and stuff like that.  Do you honestly expect 
them to go through backups and delete the messages you no longer want?  Stop 
being so paranoid.  At least they tell you about it.  

Did you know that Ed is keeping all this stuff in case the CIA, FBI, or KGB 
break into his files?

No one EVER said the net, e-mail, or anything else of similar nature is 
private.  If you want to protect something, encrypt it or find a more private 
venue, like the cone of silence.
