That's true. It depends on the business you're in and how you make money.

If you're going through headhunters, you want 10 years of Java, DotNet
and Ruby experience <s>.

If you're a vertical, it's a different equation. I met a consultant
recently who sells a specialized product. It's written in the Informix
4GL front-end and only runs on SCO Unix. For his clientele, that's not
a problem. For him, he recognizes he needs to move on. But he can take
his time.
