But the question is, have you had any situations where you needed Buy.com to provide cusomter service? A defective product, damage in shipping, or other types of customer service? Read the ratings at http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1932.html. The rating there is 1 out of 10 (six month) and 4.19 out of 10 (life). Read the reviews. Mine is presently at the top. It's page after page of the same thing. Customer service has not answered any e-mail I've sent, they did not contact me *at all* regarding my request for an exchange (not to acknowledge the request, not to ask a question, not to inform me it was denied - they simply did not contact me at all!), I have not been able to talk to a supervisor any of the 4 times I've asked, no one has ever returned a call despite leaving 4 messages, a letter to corporate has gone unanswered for 2 1/2 weeks. Read the reviews and you'll see many others reporting *exactly* the same behavior. Wait until you need them to set things right . . . You'll find they won't. You've been lucky with Buy.com as I know others have, but when a reseller acts the way they did with me and with the many other people who expressed complete disgust with their customer service, you're just holding a gun to your head if you keep buying from them. Eventually that gun is going to go off.

You ought to see the Garmin StreetPilot 7200 GPS I got for my SUV! Retail is $1,299, PCNation was a touch over $900, which included free 3-day shipping! It is a tremendous unit, which I ordered with overnight shipping. It showed up the next day, and after 2 weeks I received an eMail asking me to rate the product for inclusion on the PCNation web site. TigerDirect has also been good to work with, but their CC policies have slown down a few too many transactions for my taste (poor communication re: sometimes not shipping until I call to verify the order verbally, why bother ordering on-line at all?).
