Virgil -

IIRC - there was a slurry of activity about this when mapquest opened up
and published it's API's back in 2001/2002. There are a few companies
utilizing this technology for GPS-based truck tracking WITH VFP thrown
into the mix - but I can't tell you who they are (I signed my life away) .

Don't let anyone dissuade you, though - just because others have done it
doesn't mean there's not a market for it. You'll have to be the
bigger/better/leaner/more features product development wizard that I
*KNOW* you can be.

The firms that sell the diesel rig remote cutoff switches would be a good
place to start with your market research - as they sell into the market
you should penetrate.
