The perp is dead, right?  So what can possibly be gained from harboring a 
hatred that could never be requited.  That would be the pragmatic approach to 
the situation, but these people would feel the same way if he was still alive 
and would almost certainly not want him executed for his crimes.

It is difficult to answer such a question in the absence of similar experience; 
one can only guess what one's reaction will be.  But the "eye for an eye" 
mentality takes the victim to the criminal's level of inhumanity.  Faith 
mandates the principle that everyone will get what they rightfully deserve at 
some point in time. 

Taking someone's life is the second worst thing a person can do.  Taking one's 
own life is the first.  Roberts did both.
