Tracy,

There is a property on the chart object that you can set to use a
hatching fill pattern rather than color.

Steve,

Yes, now I understand. 
I don't use FoxCharts, so I'm not going to be able to help with
specifics.

Curious, how do you get into Monochrome mode? Is it just a flag?
Since this is all FoxPro, there is probably a collection buried in the
data
linking the graph bars to the legend. 

Hopefully someone else has been using FoxCharts and could see the link.
