Apple "faithful"? Seriously? Care to make your phrasing more loaded?

Apple made a performance choice - Flash was too resource-hungry, and
Apple had to choose between battery life or Flash, so they went with better
battery life. They did the same thing with 3G: there were no good chipsets when
the iPhone debuted, so they limited it to Edge only. I've known several people
who jailbroke their iPads to add Flash support, and every one has said that it
really sucks the battery down noticeably quicker. This isn't something as
trivial as a 'hissy fit' and ego-stroking.

And FWIW, Apple has said that if Flash performance ever improves that
they would reconsider Flash support, but that seems highly unlikely to happen.
Everyone is moving to HTML5 and other ways of supporting web video, and Adobe
seems content to leave Flash as is.

Finally, note how the consumers have voted with their dollars. You may
not like Apple, or, as it seems, despise them to the point of likening them to
a cult, but they do seem to know what they're doing.
