I just use the default "Music Player" on mine and it doesn't do that. It's what came with my Samsung Galaxy S (AKA Captivate) running Android 2.1.
You could try a few from the marketplace like WinAmp, PowerAmp doubleTwist Player and see if you like any. Frank.
