When has the US Government been correct in subsidizing anything? 1. The subsidized the expansion of farmers into the west in the 1920s and 1930s. Government farming techniques led to the single greatest man-made disaster in the United States, the Dust Bowl.
2. The Government subsidized the production of ethanol leading to taking food corn and making it into alcohol, thereby making corn prices skyrocket. 3. In the 1930s the US Government made make-work projects like the WPA, thereby extending the Great Depression. While Europe and the rest of the world came out of it, we were still mired in it. 4. The Government raised the minimum wage, thereby shutting out of the market millions of workers who then went on food stamps and welfare. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ricardo Araoz <[email protected]> To: ProFox Email List <[email protected]> Cc: Sent: Saturday, August 6, 2011 10:05 AM Subject: Re: [OT] 2012 Light bulb $3, no mercury, $18 El 06/08/11 00:27, Michael Oke, II escribió: > The government must protect us from us. That is their job, don't you know. It is happening here (Argentina) to. And probably everywhere. It must be a move by the light bulb making companies. They probably get more money from making these new bulbs than what they got from incandescent bulbs. > Michael Oke, II > 661-349-6221 > [email protected] > On Aug 5, 2011 7:17 PM, "Michael Madigan" <[email protected]> wrote: >> Why is the government involved in private business?
